How Do I Verify My Wallet Using The Satoshi Test Method?

What is the Satoshi Test?

The Satoshi Test is a method that allows Coinhako to verify that you are in direct and complete control of a wallet address.

In order to verify that you have control of a wallet, Coinhako requests you to send a specific amount of crypto (usually a small amount) to your Coinhako wallet. The address is verified after these tokens have been received from your wallet into your Coinhako account.

Step 1: When prompted to verify your non-custodial wallet address, click on “Verify now

Step 2: Select the Satoshi Test method by tapping on “Verify with Satoshi test

Step 3: Select the crypto you want to use for the test and check the wallet address and the associated name are correct. Once done, tap on “Next step

Step 4: Verify that the information displayed on this screen is correct:

What happens to the tokens I send for verification?

Tokens that you send for verification will be credited to your Coinhako account.

How long do I have to send the tokens for verification?

You will have approximately 24 hours to send the tokens after initiating the Satoshi Test.

Can I use any tokens for verification?

You will be given a list of tokens that are supported for verification. Please do not send any tokens that are not listed on Coinhako as part of the Satoshi Test transactions. Only send tokens supported on Coinhako, and shown as an option during the verification prompts for that address.

My Satoshi Test timed out, what can I do?

You can choose to retry the verification if you are sure that the information provided during the verification is entirely correct.

If you’ve made a mistake during the verification, you can opt for a refund if you’ve met all the requirements.

Alternatively, you can choose to verify a different wallet address instead.

Can I request a refund if there’s an issue with my Satoshi Test?

You may request a refund, provided that your transactions fulfill the following criteria:

  • Your deposit was made to a Coinhako address

  • Your deposit was made via your selected network

  • Your deposit was made either from an address that you did not mean to verify, or you entered the wrong amount for verification

Please ensure that the transaction fulfills all criteria before requesting a refund.

Can I still use the Satoshi Test to verify my non-custodial wallet if it doesn’t have any tokens in it?

As the Satoshi Test verification method requires you to send tokens to your Coinhako account, you may wish to opt for the Wallet Signature verification method if you do not have tokens in your personal wallet (non-custodial).

If you still wish to use the Satoshi Test, you will have to deposit some tokens into your personal wallet (non-custodial) first before starting the Satoshi Test.
