Passkeys are a safer, faster alternative to passwords. With a passkey, you can sign in using your device’s built-in authentication (Face ID, Touch ID, PIN, or security key) without needing to remember complex passwords.
What is a Passkey?
A passkey is a secure, device-based login method that replaces your password with your device’s built-in authentication — Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello, or a PIN.
Benefits
- One-tap login — no need to type your password
- Phishing-proof — works only on Coinhako’s real app/website
- Device-based — stored securely on your phone or computer
How to set up a Passkey
- Go to Profile & Settings -> Passkey -> Add Passkey

- Complete 2FA verification

- Choose your preferred sign-in option
- Face ID / Touch ID (Apple)
- Windows Hello (Windows)
- Fingerprint or device PIN (Android)
- Password managers: LastPass, Bitwarden, Passwords, etc.
- Security key

- Once confirmed, your passkey is securely linked to your account.

- You’ll see a confirmation message — with the option to view your passkey list.

Using Passkeys to Log In
Next time you sign in:
- Select Log in with passkey on the login page.

- Approve your device’s biometric or PIN prompt.

- You’re in — no password needed.
Managing Passkeys
Go to Profile & Settings → Passkeys to:
- Rename a passkey (to remember which device it belongs to)
- Remove a passkey (if you no longer use that device)
Note that removing a passkey does not delete your account. You can still log in with email + password.
Tips
- Make sure you have 2FA enabled before setting up a passkey.
- Add passkeys for devices you use regularly (e.g., phone, personal laptop, work computer).
- If you get a new device, add its passkey before removing the old one.
