How to Verify Your Wallet Address by Connecting Your Wallet
In this article, you’ll learn how to verify your personal wallet using the "Connect Your Wallet" method.
This method verifies that you own a personal (non-custodial) wallet by asking you to sign a message. You'll be redirected to Coinhako's verification site, where you will connect your wallet and sign to confirm address ownership.

Desktop version
Open Address Book, select your unverified personal wallet, and tap “Verify address"
Choose “Connect your wallet”
Select "MetaMask", then tap "Connect and sign"
MetaMask will launch, click on "Connect"
Select "Confirm" to sign the message
You'll be redirected back to the Coinhako, and your wallet address should be successfully verified.
WalletConnect is an open-source protocol that allows users to connect wallets and DApps securely.
Steps to verifying with WalletConnect
Step 1: Open Address Book, select your wallet, then choose “Verify address”
Step 2: Choose “Connect your wallet”
Step 3: Select "WalletConnect", then click on "Connect and Sign"
Step 4: On the WalletConnect screen, choose the wallet app that matches your device and wallet setup.
Step 5: On your wallet device, open the app, choose the wallet, click "connect" to allow connectionFor Ledger: On your Ledger device, open the Ethereum app, choose the wallet, and tap "Connect"
For other wallets: Open the app, select the wallet, and follow the on-screen instructions
Step 6: Sign the message on your wallet to authorize the connection.
Step 7: A second signature request will appear - sign again to complete the verification
Step 8: Review and confirm. You will return to Coinhako, and your wallet will be successfully verified.
3. Verifying your Trezor Wallet
What is a Trezor Wallet?
Trezor is a hardware wallet that securely stores your crypto offline. It helps protect your private keys from online threats like hacking or malware. Trezor support various cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin, Ethereum and many ERC-20 tokens.
Steps to verifying your Trezor Wallet
⚠️ Note that Trezor wallet verification is only supported on desktop browsers. This process cannot be completed on the Coinhako mobile app.
- Go to "Address Book", select your unverified Trezor wallet, and tap “Verify now"

- Choose "Connect your wallet", then tap "Verify now"

Ensure your Trezor wallet is installed and connected to this device, then click "Yes, proceed on this device"
- Select "Trezor Wallet"

- Ensure your Trezor is connected, then click "Yes, I plugged in my Trezor wallet"

- When prompted, click "Connect" to pair your Trezor wallet
- Click "Allow once for this session" when prompted

- Use your Trezor device to sign the verification message
- If successful, you’ll be redirected to a confirmation page, and your address will be verified

Why isn't my Trezor detected?
- The connection might have timed out. Check your cable and try reconnecting the device.

- Ensure your Electrum wallet is installed and connected to this device, then click "Yes, proceed on this device"
- Select "Electrum wallet"
- Enter your master public key, then click on "Next step". If you need help finding the master public key, click "Where can I find this information on Electrum?"

- Sign the message with your Electrum wallet, then click "Submit to complete". For more detailed instructions, click on "How to sign with Electrum"

- If successful, you’ll be redirected to a confirmation page, and your address will be verified.
