Phishing is a common scam where attackers pretend to be someone you trust—like Coinhako—in order to steal sensitive information or take control of your account. One simple and effective way to stay safe is by setting up your Anti-Phishing Code.
What is an Anti-Phishing Code?
An Anti-Phishing Code is a personalized code that only you know. Once you've set it up, this code will be displayed at the top of legitimate Coinhako emails (where supported). It serves as a quick and reliable way to verify the authenticity of our communications.
If you receive an email claiming to be from Coinhako but your anti-phishing code is missing, treat it as suspicious.
Do not click on any links or provide any personal information. Please note that this does not apply for support ticket emails
hello@coinhako.com (see below for more information).
Where Will I See My Anti-Phishing Code?
Your anti-phishing code will appear in only certain types of emails from Coinhako:
Why some channels don’t have the anti-phishing code?
- Support ticket emails hello@coinhako.com (sent from Zoho) are direct responses to user-initiated issues and currently do not support anti-phishing code due to platform limitations.
- SMS messages also do not support anti-phishing code at this time.
- Coinhako only uses SMS once — during the phone verification step as part of KYC (identity verification). This is the only legitimate instance where you will receive an SMS from Coinhako.
- We do not provide any general SMS messaging service for marketing, account updates, or withdrawal confirmations. If you receive any other SMS claiming to be from Coinhako — especially messages asking you to click links, share passwords, or provide 2FA codes — please treat them as scams or phishing attempts. If you receive a suspicious SMS:
- Do not click on any links or reply to the message.
- Verify if you recently performed a phone verification step in your KYC process. If not, it’s likely a scam.
- Block the sender’s phone number to prevent further messages.
- Report the message to our Support Team immediately, including a screenshot and the sender details.
Only Trust Official Coinhako Email Addresses
To help you identify legitimate Coinhako messages, we maintain a list of our official email addresses. If an email is sent from one of these addresses and contains your Anti-Phishing Code (when applicable), it is legitimate.
Note: Support ticket emails hello@coinhako.com (sent from Zoho) are direct responses to user-initiated issues and currently do not include anti-phishing code due to platform limitations, but they are still legitimate when sent in reply to a ticket you opened.
Why Is This Important?
Scammers often send emails or SMS messages that appear to come from Coinhako. These may:
- Link to fake websites designed to steal your credentials
- Request personal information like passwords or 2FA codes
- Try to trick you into sending digital assets
Your anti-phishing code gives you a clear, personal identifier to help you distinguish real Coinhako emails from fakes.
Your anti-phishing code is:
- Private – known only to you
- Unique – tied to your Coinhako account
- Static – remains the same unless you choose to change it
Please note that: Coinhako will never ask for your anti-phishing code, password, or 2FA code via email, phone, or messaging.
What Should You Do If Your Code Is Missing or Compromised?
If you receive a suspicious notification from Coinhako that lacks your anti-phishing code (in emails where it should appear), take the following actions:
- Do not click on any links or download attachments.
- Verify the sender’s address and double-check the domain.
- Report the notification to our Support Team.
